Message From The President

Welcome to Saint Theresa of Avila School in West Roxbury, MA, where children from West Roxbury and neighboring cities and towns have received an exceptional education for over 70 years!  

A Catholic education is a gift for a lifetime, and it is an education like no other.  We not only help develop young people intellectually, but foster physical, spiritual and social-emotional growth as well. It is an education in both knowledge and faith, where every child is seen as a unique gift from God, and all children strive to reach their highest potential supported by a loving and caring community.

We care for children as young as fifteen months in our fully-licensed Nursery School. We help develop pre-academic skills that will create a foundation for success in our PreKindergarten program. And we build upon those foundations in grades K through 6, fostering a work ethic and love of learning that will benefit them for years to come.

Students, who graduate from Saint Theresa of Avila School begin their secondary education at some of the oldest and finest schools in the United States.  They go on from us to attend not only excellent Catholic, Private, and Public secondary schools in the area, but also some of the most elite colleges and universities in the country.

Once staffed by the members of the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, we remain true to their vision, standing with the poor in their struggle for justice and giving hope to others by improving the quality of human life through the spiritual and corporal works of mercy.  We are a diverse community where students from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and faiths grow intellectually, spiritually, and in service to others.
