Message From The Principal

I am pleased to welcome you to St. Theresa of Avila School, West Roxbury. As you enter our school, you will find yourself surrounded by a friendly, dedicated community, and more importantly, a sense of family. There is an exciting atmosphere of learning that is embraced by students, supported by parents and encouraged by our qualified and dedicated teachers.

Our school serves students from preschool through sixth grade with parents and students of many diverse cultures. We are dedicated to educating the whole child and see each child as an individual with unique talents and creative abilities. It is our responsibility as a Catholic School to develop the whole person and nurture the individual so every child can grow in his/her spirituality, and emotional and intellectual ability.

St. Theresa School opened its doors to over 400 students in September of 1950 with a celebration of Mass by Monsignor Donahue. Students were taught by the Sisters of St. Joseph who instilled high academic expectations with an emphasis on strong moral character and commitment to compassionate service. This tradition continues today.

We invite you to take a tour of the school by scheduling a visit or at one of our Open Houses.

Take a few minutes to explore our website and see all the wonderful things that are happening at St. Theresa of Avila School. If you are interested in finding out more about our school, please call the school office at (617) 323-1050.
